Program Notes
Black Pepper is a medium funk tune. After the introduction, the characteristic and funky bass riff begins and the saxophone melody overlaps. The middle section played by brass with a relaxing and beautiful melody. Then return to the sax’s melody, go through the bridge in unison and enter the solo section. Soloists are alto (or tenor) sax, trombone, trumpet and drums (or percussion). Each wind instruments solos are a single chord with 8 measures. The optional percussion includes shaker, conga and tambourine.
