Five on 5: A Collection for Snare Drum & Electronic Accompaniment

Five on 5 is a collection of five intermediate snare drum solos for the developing percussionist. Each solo features challenging rudimental and technical vocabulary as well as a fun accompaniment track. The electronic accompaniment track is designed to enhance the solo and provide a melodic and harmonic backdrop for the performer. However, each solo can be performed by itself, without the use of the track.

Five on 5 is a collection of five intermediate snare drum solos for the developing percussionist. Each solo features challenging rudimental and technical vocabulary as well as a fun accompaniment track. The electronic accompaniment track is designed to enhance the solo and provide a melodic and harmonic backdrop for the performer. However, each solo can be performed by itself, without the use of the track. Ranging to 2 to 2-1/2 minutes, each solo in Five on 5 works to develop the performer’s technical ability, as well as their overall musicianship. It is important to pay careful consideration to dynamic changes, accents, and sticking throughout. Each one of these elements is needed to create the overall desired sound and style for each piece. This collection was designed to be both fun and exciting for the performer, as well as the listener. Performing these pieces will surely be a great challenge for percussionists of any level.
