Get Hyped! allows students to explore a variety of timbres on flexible instrumentation. While keeping the rhythmic content simple for individual players, the sounds of the ensemble coming together will certainly leave the listener wanting more!

Program Notes

Caden Hong, a young student from Honolulu, was inspired by percussion ensemble music and made it his goal to commission new works for his group. With the support from his teacher, Zachary Morita, he was able to gather funding and connect with current composers. I am thrilled to be a part of this commissioning project for the Hawaii Youth Percussion Ensemble.
