In three contrasting movements, the outer movements require only two mallets while the middle movement requires four. An excellent transitional piece from two- to four-mallet playing.

Program Notes

Three contrasting movements—the outer movements require only two mallets while the middle movement requires four. The first movement is primarily rolled. The second movement works on the interval of a third in each hand throughout. The final movement is rhythmically very exciting, switching between 2/4 and 5/8. Many opportunities to work on striking two mallets simultaneously. Excellent transitional piece from two- to four-mallet playing.
