Water, The

from 'Grouse Creek Symphony'

Extracted from Gackstatter's larger work, "Grouse Creek Symphony," The Water opens with a lush chorale in the woodwinds. A peaceful, rolling 6/8 follows conjuring up images of a running stream.

Program Notes

I have written many works that combine various arts (in many forms) with music: literature, silent cartoons, children’s books, masks, and photography. The Water is part of “Grouse Creek Symphony” (originally composed for full orchestra), which is based on the artwork of landscape artist Mark Flickinger, who finds his inspiration in the Flint Hills of Kansas.
