Program Notes
Wonderworld was commissioned by Petri Junna and Minna Kajander as one of five works premiered at the 2014 Ruskatrööttä festival (a wind band festival held in Lieksa, Finland). I did not originally plan to write music referring to circuses and fairgrounds. However, as the compositional process progressed I noticed the piece’s character and let it become, let’s say, what it wanted to be.
