Classic Suite for Marimba

Classic Suite consists of three contrasting movements arranged fast-slow-fast (Song, Hymn, and Fantasy). Each of the three movements can stand alone or can be played all together as a suite. Accessible to any audience, the piece employs special techniques, such as independent rolls, glissandi, and playing with the shafts of the mallets.

Classic Suite consists of three contrasting movements arranged fast-slow-fast (Song, Hymn, and Fantasy). Each of the three movements can stand alone or can be played all together as a suite. The first two movements use standard meters (4/4, 3/4, etc.) while the third movement is set primarily in 7/8 and 6/8. Accessible to any audience, the piece employs special techniques, such as independent rolls, glissandi, and playing with the shafts of the mallets.
