Canadian Rhapsody

Five Canadian folk songs are the basis for this suite. The energy, warmth and vitality of “Tenderfoot”, “Un Canadien Errant”, “At St.-Malo Beside the Sea”, “She's Like a Swallow”, and “Squid-Jiggin' Ground” are apparent in this group of contrasting folk songs. Much of the appeal of this work is based on the unique and fresh quality of the original Canadian folk tunes. The challenging technical demands and extensive use of percussion will showcase the skills of the modern concert band.
