Takin' It Easy (6-Part Flex)

Filled with bluesy lyricism and masterful counterpoint, Bruce Broughton has crafted a lovely work for 6-part adaptable wind band in his Takin' It Easy that is at times reminiscent of George Gershwin, but always rooted in 21st century sensibilities.

Program Notes

Takin' It Easy is suggestive of a time when life was simpler; a period in the past when there was time to relax and reflect.  Or perhaps to just relax.  The music is nostalgic, quiet and evocative. 

ABOUT THE SERIES
The SpectraFlex Series for adaptable wind band offers flexibility with pieces across all grade levels, featuring traditional high-to-low scoring with 5 or 6 parts and optional percussion. Each part is transposed and playable by a multitude of wind or keyboard percussion instruments while maintaining the spectrum of sound we have grown to love about the wind band.
